First Date

We both swiped right! Hannah got lucky and her first (and only) online date was with Clay (and Clay got lucky and never opened the dating apps again).

They went to a little restaurant called Tawan's Thai Food in the Outer Richmond and hit it off instantly -- a quintessential San Francisco love story!

Our Love for Hawaii

Hawaii is our happy place. It's where Clay first asked Hannah to be his girlfriend, and we've made so many memories there since! We've been to O'ahu, Maui, and Kauai, if you're looking for recs!

We love O'ahu for it's incredible food scene, variety of hiking trails, and scenic beaches (North Shore & Lanakai, no thank you to Waikiki).

Maui is the island where we find romance, the sunsets and beaches always warm our souls.

Kauai is where we feel at peace. The food trucks are incredible, the local vibe is fun, and we love it further up north at Hanalei Bay.

Moving in Together
In June of 2021, we moved in together just a few blocks from where we were both already living in the Richmond District!

We live near by amazing food & coffee on clement street, a short drive to ocean beach, and one block from golden gate park. It's perfect for us, but lately Karl has been showing up a little too often...
First International Trip

Our first international trip together was in Spain. When we travel, we like to explore cities on foot and eat a LOT of local food! Since this trip, we've been to Denmark, Sweden, and Japan. We plan to go to Switzerland and Italy for our honeymoon!

She said yes!

Golden gate park has always been so special to us. Clay felt we built the foundation of our relationship from our daily habit of long walks and talks in the park. It's become part of our daily routine to help re-center ourselves and open up to each other.

So it was a natural choice to propose by rowboat on stow lake, one of our favorite walking spots!

Similar to our wedding venue, Clay wanted the proposal to be in a semi-private, but still a publicly accessible location, so we could come back to visit and remember the moment.

It took about 5 minutes of convincing Hannah that it was okay to stand up in the boat, and that she didn't need to worry about the nearby "park ranger" watching us (it was the photographer in disguise!)
